St. John chapter 10 teaches us that the children of God follow him.

Love Hurts!

Isn't it amazing how you always hurt the one you love? Love changes the dimensions of a relationship. You become intimate with the other person, sharing wonderful thoughts about yourself, your dreams, your likes and dislikes - in all ways love exposes us to vulnerability. The emotion of love has been written about for years in poetry, in science, and in romantic novels. We have heard that people die for it, kill for it and even commit suicide because of it. I think it is fair to say, "Love is a force to be reckoned with."

Moving God!

To believe in something is a very powerful thing. Our belief and faith (the action of our belief) is very important to God. Without faith it is impossible to please God and faith without action is dead. To proclaim you believe and yet not act on that belief is contradictory and sends the opposite message to God. Our faith put's God into action. That statement beckons repetition, "Our faith put's God into action."  Peter, a noted figure among the apostles of our Lord, saw Jesus walking on the water. His faith was seen in his request and even more in his action. "Lord, If its you, tell me to come to you on the water," were his words. Through these words we have an example of a few important things. First, Peter's faith in Christ was exposed in this statement. Peters' words, "tell me to come to you on the water" is a recognition of Jesus authority over the elements and an acknowledgment that if Jesus commanded him to come he would be able to do it!

Fire it up!

Fire it up! Those were the words I have heard so often in High School and University. Get excited! Getting hyped! We find so many occasions in the world to get excited. Whether its a play or a concert. It may be a house party or a night with that special someone. Getting fired-up about something is natural. This week I want to challenge you to get fired-up....about JESUS! So many good things take place on the Christian journey. So many wonderful blessings and benefits! The favor of the Lord is great and awesome among his children. I am certain you could think of one thing to get fired-up about. When we take the moment to remember the goodness of the Lord, it draws a response from your inner core and manifests itself as in a raw and utterly expressive way. How many of you have been presented with a gift that was something you have always wanted? Do you remember your reaction?

The Faith Walk

Hebrews 11:5-6

Introduction

God’s image in Adam was then reproduced in Seth, Adam’s son. The
capacities and qualities of a parent are passed on to his children by natural
reproduction.
Besides providing the link between Adam and his times and Noah and his, this
chapter has a motif that cannot be missed—and then he died
This was the end of every man. If one were in doubt whether the wages of sin is
death (Rom. 6:23), he need only look at human history.
In Enoch’s case, the statement was not made—as it was with the other males in
this genealogy—that he lived so many years and then died. Instead he walked with
God
“Walk” is the biblical expression for fellowship and obedience that results in divine
favor. Enoch’s walk lasted 300 years. No doubt his walk would have continued,
but God took him away (v.24)—he did not die. Such a walk was commanded of
Israel (Lev. 26:3, 11-13) and of the church.
Scripture uses this term “walk” often.
Psalm 23 says “Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear
no evil.”  (Expound on this)
Jesus is further represented in the Gospels as walking and enabling others to walk
under conditions not normally given to men (Mk. 6:48). Here again, as Matthew’s
Gospel makes clear, the physical act has a spiritual significance (Mt. 14:31).
Walking can be understood as representative of the whole range of human activity
to which an impotent man is restored (Acts 3:6-10).
More frequently it stands for the whole manner of a man’s life and conduct, and
to the attitude which God takes up towards him, so that God can say: ‘If you …
walk contrary to me, then I also will walk contrary to you’ (Lv. 26:23-24).
Gen. 3:8 God came seeking to walk with Adam. God wants to walk with you.

Three main points
1. He Walked with God
2. He Pleased God
3. He Believed God

The lights are on, the audio is up, the choir quickly takes its' place. Sis Jullianne begins a heart felt welcoming of the visitors and an opening worship song to get the congregants into the spirit of worship! Pastor Emma moves toward the pulpit and begins Bible drill and memory verse recital. Everyone participates and the house is full of joy in the Lord. Where am I? CDC Sweden! You are in the right place.

The church has become so independent since Pastor Kyien has been away. His three month journey to the Philippines has been a blessing in disguise to the parent church in Sweden. Pastor Kyien, although a great delegator of authority, found it hard to let go of key positions within the church. History has been his teacher and now he has learned the congregation is ready to take the next step. Indeed the church has already taken that step. "We have grown closer as a family since you have been away," Sis. Shiro, a choir member exclaimed. "We are glad you are back but it was good you went away," she continued.
